1892 Peoples Index Typewriter Excellent Condition. Here's a vintage ancient Peoples index typewriter manufactured in New York in the early 1890's. Finish on the base is original, and the enamel on the casting is original as well, with vivid original gold pin-striping. It has a lever to push down to strike the paper. The other lever raises and lowers the typewriter for different case sizes. Ribbon has seen better days. A really nice example of a classic index typewriter. I'm not well versed with vintage typewriters, I cant get a letter to strike the paper because the ribbon is so old. I don't know what kind of issues this machine has. It needs to be looked at by a professional.
