Excellent near mint original condition, face and chassis show almost no wear or use at all. This unit had only 1 original owner, a local business that used it very lightly at background sound levels and kept it very clean. No smoking, pets, or dust/debris in the establishment at all.
The only flaws are the letters "CD" had been written next to the AUX button, and an arrow written under the Tape Monitor switches, which are still faintly visible when examined closely. Other than those marks, there is a tiny nick on the volume knob as shown. Face, knobs and switches are clean and bright, walnut veneer chassis is excellent. All knobs work smoothly and switches are nice and firm.Display lights are original and all work as they should, input selection lights, vu-meters and dial - very impressive visually. Includes original Operating Instructions and Schematics. Rated at 120 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms and 170 watts RMS into 4 ohms.
It reflected Pioneers new styling of matching silver tuning dial with white background signal strength and stereo signal meters. Features tone on/off which turns off the bass, treble controls, tape duplicate switch, FM muting on/off FM multipath, Adaptor on/off which allows you to hook an equalizer up etc. Mic left right in puts, two tape in/outputs, one aux input, two phono inputs, phono two, switch is for both mic and phono two, modes stereo and mono, and both tuning and signal meters. The SX-1050 marked a significant design change from the SX-950 and SX-850. From a highly sensitive FM front end, a high selectivity IF section, to the low distortion, big power amplifier section that delivers the outstanding continuous power output of 120 watts per channel min RMS at 8 ohms from 20 to 20,000Hz, with no more than 0.1 % total harmonic distortion, the SX-1050 radiates the excellence that the stereo buff has come to expect from Pioneer electronics. Such features as a phase locked loop IC in the MPX section, the audible multipath switch that helps eliminate FM wave interference, and the highly advanced equalizer section are not just extra touches in this receiver, but exemplify the considerable thought that has been applied to the overall design and circuit of the SX-1050.
Other important contributions to flawless sound include the Pioneer Twin Tone Control, the Toroidal-core transformer, the two very large capacitors in the power supply section - all calculated to reproduce the sound spectrum with stability amid full component protection in the inimitable Pioneer style.
