This Gibson L-7P has a factory order number dating to late 1948 and a serial number dating to very early 1949. The guitar appears on all original condition with a finish that is in remarkably good condition. The guitar has clearly been babied when it was played, but must have sat in its original hardshell case for many, many years waiting to be picked up again. The guitar plays beautifully with all notes ringing out clearly. It has a full voice with a great cutting tone. The original frets show light wear with very slight divoting of the first fret. The neck has a full C-shape, but not overly large, giving superior comfort. This guitar would be at home, in a club, or joining a full band.

The guitar is made with a high grade, quartersawn, hand carved and tuned spruce top, intensely flamed solid maple back, solid maple sides, and a three piece mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. The finish shows some light scuffing in one spot on the back (pictured). Otherwise it shows remarkably few marks for a guitar that is almost 75 years old. It has been very well cared for.

It had a neck mount DeArmond on it at one time, and a strap button was added to the heel at some point. The guitar is completely free of cracks and repairs. The neck angle is great with room to adjust action at the bridge. You would have to look long and hard to find one in this condition.

Weight - 5.56 pounds. Nut width - 1.68 inches. 1st fret depth - 0.90 inches. 10th fret depth - 0.99 inches.

The guitar comes with its original hardshell case. This item is in the category "Musical Instruments & Gear\Guitars & Basses\Acoustic Guitars".
