Marantz 7T Solid State Preamplifier: Vintage Excellent Original Condition. S/N 14628 Low noise, quiet in all modes, and no control problems. All parts original, transistors are socketed and well seated, all circuitry was handwired in 1963, factory point to point wiring will not be found anymore, as printed circuit boards were coming into use following this golden era. Features of the design include Microphone inputs, though unbalanced. Outboard input transformers could be added. Tape head inputs (low level) are supplied, with adjustable de-emphasis. Same for disk RIAA equalization, selectable and adjustment on rear panel. Two phono inputs are provided. Equalization for old Col LP and old 78 in addition to the RIAA standard is provided. Bass and treble settings are very unique and unusualstepped via 11-position discrete switching and separate for each channel. Included on rear panel is a CENTER CHANNEL OUTPUT, suitable for feeding a subwoofer via a low-pass filter. How could the designer have foreseen the Subwoofer?

Front panel features a Headphone output and 1/4 TRS jacks for external device in and out for dubbing and playback. Several hours were spent on an internal survey of circuitry. A failed #49 pilot lamp was replaced, and 2 cold solder joints were taken care of.

Apart from normal wear, and superficial panel scratches, nothing critical needs attention. The missing button cover was replaced, (see final photo) but is the wrong size. Im still looking for the correct part.
