Original Clockwork For A Schatz Ships Clock Excellent Running Condition

  

In excellent running condition, was checked cleaned and oiled. The clockwork is marked aug. Schatz & Sohne Germany, two (2) Jewels. It comes with the mounting plate.

Used item, signs of use. Found inside the case of a Schatz shipsbell. Doesn't strike the hours but the hours of the watch, I think it refers to the expresion when 8 bells toll. A new watch starts at noon, 4 p. The end of a "watch" and start of a new watch is marked by the bell being struck 8 times. A half hour later, the bell is struck once, with an additional strike each half hour until the end of the watch. Then the cycle starts again. The bells are struck in pairs, that is, the first two bells are struck close together followed by a pause, then the next two, etc. We sell used parts, taken from used clocks. New parts and new old stock parts. They are bound to have signs of use, may be in need of cleaning. They might look slightly different then pictured due to production process differences. The colours could be slightly different.
