Original M48 M1948 Fishtail Parka + Original Liner Excellent Condition S
Original M48 Fishtail Parka + Original Liner. Tag size small (fits larger as meant to be worn over field gear). Extremely Rare original M1948 fishtail parka with original alpaca liner. Made from a heavy duty santeen cotton, with a wolf fur hood trim and alpaca liner with rayon fronting. This is by far the most high quality parka the US army ever made. The pure quality and cost of manufacturing was the reason this was replaced by the m51, which is why these are so scarce, as not many where issued. Lovely heavy duty brass talon zippers throughout which are all fully working in great condition, as-well as all the studs poppers and buttons.
This parka is in excellent condition with barley any signs of use considering its over 70 years old. Only major noticeable thing is a period era darned repair to one arm but it is done so well I actually adds to the piece. I think you would be hard pushed to find a better example and condition is excellent for its age.
The shell has no holes, major marks or major damage which is becoming extremely hard to find. It has a bit of general surface wear and some slight fraying but you will find this on dead stock ones with cutter tags. The liner itself is also in excellent condition with no damage to the sheepskin and some light surface wear to the rayon fronting. Please see pictures for general overview of condition.
