Early (1960s) Ortofon SPU-G/T with stylus guard and in original box, made in Denmark by Ortofon. This cartridge is in excellent to near mint condition. The cover is still factory-sealed in red wax, which means it has never been opened.

As is sometimes the case, there is a crack on the cover, the result of the screw being a bit too tight during assembly for the fragile cover. The headshell is shiny and I can't see see any visible scratches on it.

S can be seen in Photo 3, the foam inside the box has disintegrated. The stylus guard is in excellent condition and does not have any cracks. The stylus is perfectly centred and looks to have had very little use, if at all.

(See Photos 8 and 9). The cartridge has been tested on an RMG-309. It works flawlessly and sounds sublime. Recommended tracking weight is 3.5 gm. This is a rare opportunity to get one of the greatest cartridges ever made - in like-new condition.
