It is constructed of green Bush Poplin, a 100% cotton fabric that is created in such a fashion that it can't be appreciated until you have worn it for a while. It is rugged and beautiful. The jacket was designed with an "internal belt", heavy duty elastic gathers across the jacket front. This design does away with belt and loops that tend to get hung up in the bush, a feature Hemingway was set upon. Other features of this exceptional jacket include working epaulets, padded right shoulder, shell holders, 2 breast pockets with flap and button closures, 2 bellows front waist pockets with flap button closures, left upper arm pocket to secure glasses, and button and strap sleeve retainers.
The latter to secure your sleeves in a "rolled up" position when you need it. This Jacket is just awesome. I own and wear this model on a regular basis. Bush Poplin can be launder; however, it responds in a spectacular fashion to the dry-cleaning process. This gives it a stiffer hand and a beautiful finish, i recommend it. The jacket offered today is one of those designed when W&G were still built with "intended use" and not some price point as the guiding principle. Its a Blue Label Series. There are two side seams instead of one, numerous sets of "boxed" reinforced stitches at stress points, details that can not be seen but are greatly appreciated when pockets are full. The classic Bush Poplin label rides inside the left front of the jacket and the company history in the right. This one is marked a "L" and measures 24.5 across the back of jacket laid flat, right at the armpits.
Across the back of jacket laid flat, at the waist. The jacket length is 33" down the back and has a 36" sleeve length.Garment shows basically no wear, and is in excellent condition! Willis & Geiger the way it was meant to be. Tag says L and fits like a L. 24.5 pit to pit across the back laid flat. 33 from base of collar to bottom of hem.
36 from center base of collar to end of cuff. We see the great pieces less and less. New Old Stock stashes are fewer and fewer.
Well managed, vintage stock items are just flatly harder to find. Routinely I sell only the highest quality pieces. If there is an issue with one of my pieces I will be clear about that issue. Please remember that at this point in time any W&G item is pre-owned. New old stock does appear on occasion and because of the quality of pre-Lands End items many of the older pieces remain in excellent used condition.
I hope to be helpful to those looking for excellent pre-owned Willis & Geiger gear. I do keep some stock not currently listed here and I also have clients for whom I locate particular W&G items that are never listed.Contact me if you would like me to locate and acquire a particular W&G piece for you. But, as with most things excellent, the wait can be well worth it. Thanks for taking a look at my auctions. Please review all photos for detailed examination of Item. Please check my feedback and read my reviews.
